Bumboat Cruise

What used to be a common form of transport for cargoes filled with rice, cotton, spices etc.. from big ships into the Singapore River where the shophouses, godowns and warehouses were, the traditional and all important “bumboats” take centre stage in a once busy and congested Singapore River!

Guests will take a similar journey down the historic and now cleaned up Singapore River on the bumboats, passing under bridges built during the colonial rule, passing by tall buildings of the business and financial district, the former General Post Office (now Fullerton Hotel), the Empress Building (now Asian Civilisation Museum), our founder Sir Stamford Raffles’ landing site in 1819, the Fullerton Waterboat House, former warehouses of Clarke Quay, conservation shophouses of Boat Quay, and the picturesque Marina Bay area with great views of the iconic tourism symbol – the Merlion, the Singapore Flyer (observation wheel), the Esplanade Theatres on the Bay, the lotus-shaped ArtScience Museum and of course the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel!
